Education Action Zones

Education Action Zones (EAZs) were established by the government as a way of raising attainment in key areas of England (other countries within the UK have their own arrangements). Generally Zones have been sited in areas of social and economic deprivation, and tend to be (but not exclusively) in urban environments. Their brief is a broad one with objectives that are educationally holistic, to support learning through a range of activities that also support personal, social and cultural development.

Singing is one way in which these objectives can be met, and (with support from the National Foundation for Youth Music) animateurs have been delighted to work closely with each of the five Zones in developing programmes that meet our and their aims.
